Crawford County Partners With Project Life Saver
VAN BUREN, Ark. — The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is a partner of Project Life Saver.
The program works to track patients with conditions such as dementia, alzheimer’s, Down syndrome and autism, who tend to wander away.
Project Life Saver consists of two parts. The first is a plastic bracelet that one wears. Inside it has a radio frequency. The second is what the Sheriffs Department operates which is antennas and a locator that sends out a beep when in line with the bracelet.
“Most victims are found within 30 minutes,” said Ron Brown, chief deputy for the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department plans to start Project Life Saver at the first of the year.
Project Life Saver has been implemented in seven counties in Arkansas and in 47 states in the U.S.
